What the heck?
A little taste of Norway – with a twinkle in the eye.
Some of the best ideas come about completely by accident. When I was in the kitchen cooking one evening with my son and husband, we were chatting about all sorts of things and joking around. Our son, who grew up both in Oslo and northern Norway, suddenly came up with the expression: "Ka i fesken" (funny, but impossible to translate) I couldn't help but laugh and I thought it was so wonderful, funny and full of personality that I immediately knew it had to be the starting point for a new pattern design!

Art Deco Nature collection
A colorful tribute to nature – interpreted through a modern Art Deco expression.
Art Deco Nature is a new pattern collection from Multebær, where forest landscapes, animals, and small birds meet in a harmonious composition inspired by the Art Deco period.
The heart of the collection is the signature hero pattern, a narrative landscape developed for textiles and wallpaper. Around this, I have designed a series of coordinating patterns – decorative stripes, borders and smaller patterns – that both work beautifully together and stand strong on their own.
This is not just one single design, but a well-crafted pattern collection. All the patterns share the same color palette and the same visual expression, so they can be easily combined to create holistic, personal and harmonious interiors.
Vintage bloom collection
A colorful tribute to ornamentation, nature and craft traditions.
Inspired by vintage textiles, Scandinavian folk art and embroidered flowers, the collection combines elegant birds, decorative flowers and organic tendrils in a vibrant palette of raspberry pink, coral red, fresh green tones and deep cobalt blue details.
The collection consists of main patterns, coordinating stripes and smaller patterns that are designed to work together on wallpaper, bedding, cushions, curtains and interior textiles.
The result is a warm and playful collection that balances nostalgic charm with a modern expression.
Ornamental Botanical Indigo
A detailed, hand-drawn botanical pattern inspired by the elegant chinoiserie tradition, classic botanical illustrations and timeless blue and white ceramic traditions. Symmetrical flowers, winding tendrils and fine ornamental details create a harmonious composition with an expression that is both sophisticated and timeless.
Ornamental Botanical Indigo is the main pattern in a well-crafted collection consisting of several coordinating patterns – from decorative secondary designs to simple blend and border patterns. Together, they are developed to be freely combined and create holistic expressions on textiles, wallpapers and interior products.
Lotus Garden collection
The Lotus & Heron collection is inspired by tranquil wetlands where elegant herons move silently among blooming lotuses. Together they create a harmonious expression that gives a sense of calm, balance and closeness to nature.
This design is part of a larger collection and is available in several different background colors – from soft and muted tones to more vibrant and colorful varieties.
The strong contrasts between the lush lotus flowers, the elegant herons and the vibrant backgrounds give the pattern a decorative expression that fits equally well with textiles, wallpaper and interior details.
The collection combines botanical beauty with a modern, decorative design language and is created to bring both energy and a sense of peace into the home.
Ocean Garden collection
A detailed pattern design from Multebær Norway. Perfect for those looking for unique design solutions, inspired by Nicola's childhood in England, holidays to Southern Ireland where her Irish mother is from, and visits to remote beaches in Wales and Ireland.
The ocean has always been an important part of Nicola’s life, especially since she grew up near the coast. Exploring tide pools was a favorite childhood activity, along with swimming as deep as possible underwater to discover hidden rocks, marine life, and underwater habitats — an escape into a whole other world.
Fascinated by seahorses, starfish, shells, floating seaweed and the movement of the ocean, Ocean Garden reflects both the beauty and vulnerability of marine life. Nicola often describes it as an “underwater garden” — full of intriguing details, organic textures and soft movements beneath the sea.
This intricate master design has been carefully developed over many hours and is available in several thoughtful color variations. The collection combines a soft color palette with a fresh coastal feel, making it suitable for textiles, wallpaper, interiors, fashion accessories, children's rooms and home interiors.
Three coordinating designs have also been developed to complement the main pattern, allowing the entire Ocean Garden collection to be mixed and matched beautifully.
